POSITION SUMMARY:
Instructs high school students and provides quality standardsbased instruction in the area of AudioVideo and Film Technology; assesses and encourages student progress manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement. This position reports to the Principal.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
Facilitates /coordinates a rigorous Broadcast Video Production curriculum with careerrelated instruction; assesses and provides for differentiation to assure student progress while managing the learning environment.
Complies with state and system level regulations and policies; including the rules of the Professional Standards Commission Code of Ethics for Educators.
Models enthusiasm for AudioVideo and Film Technology and demonstrates current innovations in the agricultural industry including competition within global economy.
Administers developmental testing programs subjectspecific formative/summative assessments and industryrecognized technical skill assessments for the purpose of evaluating students industry certification competency levels attainment and/or the monitoring and development of individual learning growth and student progress towards achieving Individual Graduation Plans (IGP) goals.
Sponsors/infuses cocurricular Skills USA career tech student organizational (CTSO) experiences to students in the program for the purpose of leadership development advanced technical skills attainment workforce readiness preparation and college careerreadiness studies.
Manages and maintains programs assigned equipment software and supplies.
Maintains professional development competence through ongoing educational and professional development training as required for certification.
Engages conducts and documents meeting minutes of an active local school Broadcast Video Production Advisory Committee for the curriculum areas careerrelated activities support.
Establishes and maintains industry and postsecondary connections to promote/encourage students participation in continuing education opportunities; including College Credit Nows Move On When Ready (MOWR) Dual Enrollment and Articulation Credit programs.
Must have working knowledge of programs such as Adobe Creative Suites and video/audio editing software.
Maintains prompt and professional communication with parents.
Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Hold an associates degree or higher from a GaPSCaccepted accredited institution in broadcast and video production; communication; mass communications; or a GaPSCdetermined equivalent; and have at least two 2 years of occupational work experience in the field.
One 1 year teaching experience preferred.
Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Written and oral communication
Makes recommendations or decisions which usually affect the entire department/school.
Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T4 to T7 and content area specialization as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Sound level of judgment required: Analytical/technical skills required.
Requires regular frequent contact with internal/external and decisionmaking responsibility. Excellent interpersonal skills are required.

Excellent classroom management required. May be designated as a lead teacher or trainer.
Applies recommends and implements technology solutions to improve the effectiveness of the audio video film and technology field.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal classroom/school setting. Will require travel for offsite training and student exposure opportunities
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Light duty On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting standing or stooping. Light lifting or carrying 20 lbs. or less.
