Position Summary

Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) is seeking a Building Maintenance Training Program Manager to lead and oversee our new Building Maintenance and Repair training program. This individual will be responsible for program development and operational management to equip students with essential skills in facilities maintenance such as plumbing electrical work HVAC carpentry janitorial and general building repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance experience in vocational training or workforce development and an understanding of the highdemand industries that will support student placements and career advancement.

Some of the duties include:

  • Implement and oversee a structured training curriculum that aligns with industry standards and employer needs
  • Ensure the program curriculum includes handson learning technical instruction and soft skills training to prepare students for employment
  • Stay updated on industry trends certifications and best practices in facility maintenance such as janitorial general construction electrical plumbing HVAC carpentry painting drywall repair and general maintenance
  • Oversee daily operations of the training program ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in instruction and handson learning
  • Ensure students gain both technical skills and safety knowledge in compliance with OSHA regulations and First Aid
  • Conduct classroom instruction demonstrations and realworld facility projects to enhance learning
  • Work with staff partners community organizations and workforce agencies to recruit participants including returning citizens SNAP recipients and other underserved populations
  • Oversee student handson learning opportunities
  • Partner with external vendors and contractors for shared training opportunities
  • Ensure that all tools equipment and training materials are properly maintained and accessible
  • Maintain existing and build new partnerships with local businesses contractors and property managers to secure job placements and apprenticeship opportunities for students
  • Organize site visits guest speakers and network with industry professionals
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations accreditation standards and grant requirements
  • Assist with data collection and reporting to measure program outcomes and impact

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree or equivalent experience in facilities maintenance building operations property management or skilled trades such as custodial services HVAC plumbing carpentry or electrical work. Additionally 35 years of experience managing vocational training programs or tradebased education is required. A valid Ohio drivers license reliable transportation and proof of insurance required. Must be able to pass a PREA background check by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
