This position will address the immediate practical operational needs for collections inventory and discoverability. This position will perform original and copy cataloging support efforts related to digitization Archives and Special Collections discoverability and access.
Under the general supervision of the Head of Collection Management applies complex library concepts to resolve a wide range of issues relating to resource description and cataloging for all Library collections in collaboration with the Metadata Analyst Research and Technical Services Managing Archivist and Digital Archivist.
The Collection Management unit includes acquisitions collection development electronic resources management and metadata. We perform activities related to the selection acquisition maintenance preservation and discoverability of scholarly resources for access by the UCSF community. Our goal is to understand our users scholarly resource needs and to provide the best possible user experience. We strive to provide timely accurate clear and useful customer service to all users at all points of contact.
Archives and Special Collections is a dynamic health sciences research center that contributes to innovative scholarship actively engages users through educational activities preserves past knowledge enables collaborative research experiences to address contemporary challenges and translates scientific research into patient care.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $38.08 $52.43 (Hourly Rate).
