Job Description

The Texarkana Arkansas School District is seeking applicants for Executive Director of Curriculum Instruction & Professional Development.

Primary Purpose:

Provide vision direction and leadership for the districts curriculum instructional practices and professional development programs ensuring highquality learning experiences for all students.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification: Arkansas Administrator Certification
  • Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Expertise in curriculum design instructional strategies and assessment practices
    • Strong background in professional development planning and implementation
    • Knowledge of state and federal accountability systems
    • Experience in managing federal programs and grant funding
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of five 5 years in instructional leadership curriculum or professional development roles

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Lead and manage the districts curriculum and instruction department.
  2. Develop implement and evaluate instructional programs to improve student achievement.
  3. Oversee all professional development initiatives for teachers and administrators.
  4. Manage districtwide accountability and assessment programs.
  5. Supervise federal programs ensuring compliance and effective resource allocation.
  6. Provide leadership for the districts gifted and talented programs.
  7. Support schools in implementing researchbased instructional strategies.
  8. Analyze student performance data to inform curriculum decisions.
  9. Collaborate with school leadership to ensure instructional alignment and support.
  10. Develop and monitor budgets for curriculum and professional development programs.
