Instructional Facilitator
The Influence1 Foundation a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization was organized exclusively for purposes to include educational management community engagement and economic development. Initiated as a philanthropic measure of its founder Influence1 has grown to serve the local community in multiple capacities with varying programs geared for community and youth enrichment.
In addition to its charter schools City University School of Liberal Arts City University School Boys Preparatory City University School Girls Preparatory and City University School of Independence Influence1 is also responsible for the 38106 Joint Agency Collaborative 1Urban Gallery and the Memphis Starts With Me community program.
City University Schools
City University Schools is a network of openenrollment college preparatory schools established under Tennessee charter school laws in underresourced communities throughout the state.
Since its founding in 2004 City University Schools strives to meet the need of public education as well as the demand for alternative institutions committed to postsecondary preparation.
Each school operates on the principles of providing a valuable wellrounded academic experience through the support of a diverse and dedicated group of qualified educators and administrative staff an extended school year and rigorous college preparatory curriculum.
Mission
City University Schools will prepare its students with the necessary skills to be twentyfirst century scholars and citizens. As college preparatory schools operating as Centers of Excellence for Student Development City University Schools will provide academically rigorous and socially enriching educational opportunities for its scholars. Upon graduation these scholars will be better prepared to enter secondary education and college as intellectually sophisticated citizens with vigor for learning.
Position Goals
Deliver continuous improvement through classroom instruction by providing instructional support to teachers in the elements of researchbased instruction and by demonstrating the alignment of instruction with curriculum standards and assessments tools; develops instructional strategies; develops and implements training; chooses standardsbased instructional materials; provides teachers with an understanding of current research; integrates technology into instruction; assists in the implementation of the components of the City University Schools Improvement Plan.
The Educational Resource Center Coordinator is responsible for dispensing all developmental information to all scholars and parents. As such to provide holistic & proactive services which contributes to scholars educational vocational and & personal/social development.
Responsibilities
- Collect prepare and submit in a timely manner all documents for Title 1 and Title 2 Compliance.
- Apply strategies of adult learning across teacher leadership activities in order to aid in the development of faculty to ensure quality instruction and academic success for all scholars.
- Inform and facilitate the design and implementation of integrated professional development based on assessed student and teacher needs.
- Assist faculty in analyzing classroom and state assessment data to inform instruction.
- Provide demonstration lessons in curriculum for classroom teachers and others.
- Facilitate communication about researchbased instructional practices and student achievement between and among teachers within and across all grade levels.
- Demonstrate current instructional technology in the classroom and for data analysis.
- Provide differentiated assistance to faculty based on individual needs.
- Facilitate and participate in district and building level trainings.
- Serve as the Building Testing Coordinator for all schools.
- Compile assemble and work within the framework of the School Improvement Plan.
- Compile and update textbook inventory technology tools inventory i.e. computer carts iPads calculators etc.
- Conduct dropin faculty evaluations and gives feedback to the administration
- Provide recommendations regarding hiring and securing high quality personnel
- Attend faculty meetings and professional development to promote the educational culture of the schools.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed in order to support the overall success of all schools on one campus.
Qualifications
The selected individual must have a Bachelors Degree Masters Degree preferred. A Valid Tennessee Teaching license and four 4 years classroom teaching experience (minimum) and at least two 2 years of administrative experience.
Applicant must also have proven recent experience providing/facilitating professional development/learning as well as demonstrative success in working with atrisk student population. Be appropriately trained and able to handle emergency situations that occur with staff parents and students. Must be able to work with a diverse constituent base and have the ability to work with parents. Be familiar with providing college preparatory curriculum programs and services.
City University Schools compiles with all Tennessee policies regarding minimum requirements that administrators be certified in the applicable area or demonstrate progress toward obtaining proper certification.
The selected candidate must submit a recent portfolio of professional development presentations in order to demonstrate a firm understanding of the key elements necessary for academic success in todays school environments.
All writing and communication must be of free thought and intellect as well as absent of plagiarism. Any (past or current) occurrence of plagiarism will serve as grounds for automatic removal from the application pool for an educational post with City University Schools.

Terms of Employment
This is an 12month position. All contractual information shall be outlined in the contract between the Instructional Facilitator and the City University Schools Board of Trustees. The Instructional Facilitator shall be evaluated in accordance with Board policy.
