Job Description

No Nights or Weekends!

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)in thePlastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic provides pre and postoperative evaluation and care for pediatric and adult reconstructive surgery related to body injuries and conditions burns pressure ulcer and wound closure cleft lip and palate facial and jaw injuries hand injuries head and neck tumors breast and skin cancer as well as tissue transfer/transplant. The clinic also cares for patients who have undergone transgender health surgeries such as vaginoplasty phalloplasty mastoplasty and mastectomies.

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The CMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The CMA reports to the clinic manager who is responsible for administrative supervision staff development and orientation of the CMA to the areas policies and procedures. The CMA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies assists in the organization of efficient patient flow and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety.

Shift:

Full Time 40 hours)

Day Shift 8:30 am 5:00 pm

No nights or weekends!

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required

Licensure/Certification/Experience:

  • Completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA NCMA NRCMA CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire
  • Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA Red Cross and military training network
  • Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience

Salary Range: Minimum$18.15per hour Maximum$27.65per hour.Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
