Job Description

In 2025 Blackstone established Brio Real Estate (Brio) as a portfolio company focused on real estate credit. Brio is a commercial real estate services platform that supports Blackstones Real Estate Debt Strategies (BREDS) investments across the globe. The company provides support across key functions including corporate transaction and management services. The Associate Capital Markets will assist the global BREDS capital markets team in the oversight and management of the liability side of the BREDS investment portfolio. The Associate will help manage the sourcing structuring negotiation closing and ongoing management of the financing of the debt securities portfolio across various BREDSmanaged vehicles. This externalfacing role requires interaction with financing counterparties and demands a proactive approach in managing tasks such as soliciting financing quotes and negotiating terms monitoring daily trade activity and vehicle liquidity managing repo trade settlement in conjunction with the BREDS Securities Operations team facilitating bank counterparty due diligence of funds and various tracking and reporting of BREDS financing portfolio.

What you will do:

  • Acquire deep knowledge of the global real estate securities financing markets and support the BREDS capital markets team in securing financing for its growing portfolio of CMBS RMBS and corporate debt holdings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with BREDS existing financing counterparties and develop relationships with potential new financing counterparties.
  • Assist in the sourcing of securities repo financing quotes from bank counterparties via a thoughtful and coordinated outreach effort following up as necessary and tracking and evaluating all feedback received.
  • In conjunction with internal subject matter experts BREDS capital markets and external counsel assist in the onboarding and negotiation of new financing facilities across various BREDS vehicles.
  • Liaise with the BREDS Securities Operations team to ensure daily settlement and liquidity management activities are managed smoothly.
  • Ongoing oversight of and responsibility for portfolios of securities repo financing including management of upcoming maturity/extension dates and optimization of existing terms.
  • Coordinate across BREDS and Brio investment asset management finance operations and legal teams in executing the above responsibilities.

What you should have:

  • Bachelors Degree combined with a minimum of 24 years relevant professional experience (excluding internships/training) in structured products sales and trading real estate finance capital markets or related fields.
  • Strong mathematic skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with real estate capital markets structured products (CMBS/RMBS) and trading concepts.
  • Indepth knowledge of real estate credit concepts (e.g. LTV DY NRSRO ratings).
  • Bloomberg Terminal experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and strategic problemsolving skills.
  • Interest intuitiveness and experience in using new technologies to optimize processes.
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and make efficient decisions.
  • Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team always maintaining a collaborative approach.
  • Strong work ethic integrity and commitment to meet competing deadlines.
  • Selfstarter highly organized and detail oriented.
  • High level of integrity and professional conduct.
