Summary
The BoardCertified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will provide highquality behavioral services to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will be responsible for conducting assessments developing individualized behavior intervention plans and providing ongoing support to individuals and their families. The BCBA will also supervise and train behavior technicians collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and monitor progress to ensure optimal outcomes for the individuals we serve.
Essential Job Functions
- Conducts functional behavior assessments for adults with wideranging developmental profiles and diagnoses across day vocational community and residential programs
- Designs behavioral intervention plans following the framework of PBS
- Assists in the assessment of each program in the application of Universal Supports of PBS
- Provides supervision and training to registered behavior technicians
- Conducts and edits skill assessments
- Assists in the support and ongoing training of staff in the use of Motivity digital data collection system
- Works with the interdisciplinary team to ensure objectives align with individuals goals
- Develop and monitor behavioral data for individuals. Make recommendations for program design and delivery to improve participants behavioral challenges utilizing Incompass/Motivitys vast library.
- Collects and analyzes data to track progress and modify plans as needed
- Provides Behavioral skills training to direct support staff on the implementation of Behavior Support Plan and skill acquisition programs so they are able to trouble /problemsolve skill or interfering behavior challenges as they arise
- Develops and assists program staff in the implementation of behavioral strategies and crisis intervention plans and protocols.
- Works with PT OT and SLP to help individuals meet their goals
- Collaborates with families caregivers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and the highest quality of care
- Applying PABC principles serves as a role model and coach to program managers and direct care staff relative to implementation of supportive behavioral techniques.
- Assists program staff when behavioral or social skills issues arise with participants.
- Works in collaboration with the clinical team to ensure sound personcentered and creative clinical programming based on team recommendations.
- Participates in clinical and staff meetings ISP meetings intake meetings and other relevant meetings as assigned.
- Serves as member of the Professional Interdisciplinary Team.
- Serves as a member of the agency PBS leadership team.
- Monitors and safeguards the health wellbeing and safety of individuals in the program onsite and in the community. Reports issues to the appropriate persons and handles emergencies according to agency policies and procedures.
- Ensures the coordination between residential and day services programs for continuity of care to dually supported participants.
- Serves as a mandated reporter as required by the Disabled Persons Protection Commission.
- Processes all human rights issues incident and accident reports in a timely manner according to agency policy/procedure. Ensures the human rights of program participants are safeguarded in all interventions.
- Fosters and maintains positive relationships with families participants and staff and informs supervisor of significant and/or unresolved issues.
- Acts in a manner consistent with organizational values program mission and service delivery goals. Serves as a resource and role model for staff.
- Adheres to the BACBs Professional and Ethical Compliance Code.
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor as they relate to the duties in this job description.
- Position requires some (less than daily) local travel using personal vehicle (eligible for mileage reimbursement)

Qualifications

Education and Experience
- Masters Degree in ABA Psychology Education or related field.
- Current BCBA Certification required
- Massachusetts LABA required
- 2 years of experience as a BCBA in applied setting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Skilled and efficient scientific writer
- Demonstratable skills in BSP design
- Empathetic and compassionate approach
- Experience with digital data collection systems preferred (Motivity experience a plus)
- Interest and passion for applying the science of ABA to a wideranging population of individuals
Computer Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in use of email the Internet and have strong Microsoft Suite skills.
Analytical Skills
Demonstrated ability to problemsolve handle emergencies and successfully manage several projects simultaneously.
Language Skills
Mastery of the English language required as demonstrated by the ability to read and write instructions ability to read analyze and interpret field and/or professional journals technical procedures policy and procedure manuals and governmental regulations. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Individuals families staff or the general public. Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written instructions. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively facilitate meetings.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
Certificates Licenses Registrations
- BCBA certification
- Valid Drivers License
- Current First Aid and adult CPR certification required within first 6 months on the job; thereafter employee is expected to remain current.
- PABC training within first 6 months on the job; thereafter employee is expected to remain current.
Physical Demands
