Job Description: Senior Manager Power Evacuation Planning (Renewable Energy Projects)
Job Overview:
The Senior Manager Power Evacuation Planning is responsible for leading and overseeing the entire power evacuation strategy for largescale renewable energy projects including solar wind and hybrid power plants. This role involves securing regulatory approvals ensuring grid connectivity optimizing transmission infrastructure and coordinating with government agencies utilities and internal teams to ensure the efficient and costeffective evacuation of power.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Power Evacuation Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement longterm power evacuation strategies aligned with project capacity and grid availability.
- Conduct technical and financial feasibility studies for power evacuation routes substations and transmission lines.
- Optimize transmission network design to minimize energy losses and ensure stable power evacuation.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Approvals
- Ensure adherence to national and state grid codes CERC/SERC regulations and renewable energy policies.
- Obtain necessary approvals and clearances from CTU STU PGCIL CEA DISCOMs and SLDC/RLDC.
- Manage documentation and regulatory filings for grid connection applications load flow studies and power evacuation agreements.
3. Stakeholder & Government Liaison
- Coordinate with government authorities transmission utilities and regulatory agencies to expedite approvals and agreements.
- Engage with internal teams including project development engineering legal and finance to ensure alignment on power evacuation plans.
- Negotiate with DISCOMs and utilities for power purchase agreements (PPAs) and transmission service agreements (TSAs).
4. Technical Analysis & Power System Studies
- Oversee power system studies including load flow analysis shortcircuit studies and grid impact assessments.
- Assess transmission capacity stability and reactive power compensation requirements.
5. Project & Implementation
- Supervise the of power evacuation infrastructure including substations transmission lines and grid interconnections.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines technical specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor power evacuation performance postcommissioning and optimize grid integration processes.
6. Risk Management & Mitigation
- Identify and mitigate risks related to grid connectivity transmission congestion and curtailment.
- Develop contingency plans and alternative evacuation routes to prevent project delays.
- Stay updated on policy changes and grid expansion plans to align future projects accordingly.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Power Systems or a related field.
- Experience: 1218 years of experience in power evacuation planning for largescale renewable energy projects.
- Industry Expertise: Strong knowledge of transmission planning grid connectivity processes and regulatory frameworks.
- Regulatory Experience: Extensive dealings with CTU STU SLDC RLDC PGCIL and DISCOMs for transmission and grid approvals.
