About Corewell Health Wayne Hospital
Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This fullservice hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne Westland Garden City Canton Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients.
Scope of Job
Under the supervision of their assigned preceptor and/or the license of their Supervisor the Respiratory Therapy graduate: implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders; participates in the education of patients; provides technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care; assists patients of all ages with acute and chronic illness in returning to a productive life style.
Qualifications
Required Associates Degree Respiratory Therapy
CRTRespiratory Therapist Certification NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care 90 Days required
CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire
LICRespiratory Therapist STATEMI State of Michigan 90 Days required
