Work Location: Texas Health Plano 6200 West Parker Rd Plano TX 75093
Work Hours:PRN with variable schedule to include days evenings nights weekends and holidays.
Surgery Department highlights:

Heres What You Need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1 2009 OR
- Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology required
- Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology preferred
- Two years of recent experience in a surgical service specialty (robotics cardiovascular/hearts orthopedics neurology) with a minimum of 150 cases performed in that specialty Required
- CST Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire Required Or
- CST Certified Surgical Technologist and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1 2009 Upon Hire Required Or
- CST Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Upon Hire Required Or
- LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Required And
- BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire Required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- A high degree of confidentiality with the ability to function in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple demands as well as respond to rapidly changing priorities.
- Service orientation and demonstrated ability to respond to the needs and emotions of people under stress.
What You Will Do:
- Preoperatively assists R.N. circulator in formulating plan of care.
- Prepare and organize the operating room.
- Assists in the delivery of nursing care in a manner that minimizes the risk of infection transfer and accidental contamination.
- Maintain a sterile environment.
- Assists in delivering care in a manner which protects the patient from injury.
- Care is provided with an emphasis on continually improving quality service and cost effectiveness.
- Demonstrates competence in assisting with the performance of ageappropriate patient care that is specific to the unique physiological and anatomic aspects of life from the very young to the older adult.
