Job Purpose
The Respiratory Therapy department at Bethany Childrens Health Center is dedicated to delivering comprehensive therapeutic services and diagnostic evaluations for our pediatric patients facing respiratory insufficiencies and complexities. The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor will assume vital administrative responsibilities in the absence of administrative staff and will provide supervision to onshift respiratory therapists ensuring high quality care under the guidance of the Respiratory Therapy Manager and Director. This position will perform tasks and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Bethany Childrens Health Centers mission vision values and standards.

Maintains treating staff therapist responsibilities
Concurrent
Supervise respiratory staff and the duties of direct patient care serving as a respiratory therapy resource for all staff members

Performs administrative duties including preparing staff assignments data collection through an auditing process recordkeeping communication and other duties to ensure smooth operations. Including providing input for annual performance evaluations and goal completions.

Provides guidance instructions and advice to respiratory therapy staff

Participates in an oncall rotation with other leadership team members as needed

Attends respiratory therapy training and inservice events

Assists with inpatient and outpatient pulmonary rounding as needed

Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility
Supervises and mentors staff on the assigned shift.
Assists with peer interviewing during the hiring process as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy degree required. Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 to 4 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist preferably in pediatrics.
License/Certification/Credential:
Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensed by the Oklahoma Medical Board.
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire).
