We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic engineer to support our team of Payload integration and verification engineers as we build nextgeneration communications systems for space. In this fastpaced role you will be responsible for designing building and maintaining the CI/CD and related infrastructure used by these teams to create a broadband solution with global impact.
Creativity problemsolving and evaluating engineering tradeoffs are all musthaves for this role. Audacious goals require persistent cleverness.
Our tools are critical to developer productivity which means architecting a scalable faulttolerant system is essential. You will engage with experienced crossdisciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative solutions. You must be responsive flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment. You will take part in designing solutions to hard problems alongside a team of the worlds best engineers working toward one shared goal: seeing our satellites launching to form the worlds next global communications network.
Key job responsibilities
Responsible for the development and maintenance of key infrastructure to support a communications system teams development and verification work.
Analyzing and mitigating potential selfinterference and other system interference issues.
Implementing validating and optimizing RF lab setups composed of antenna measurement equipment and prototype equipment. Analyzing RF link budget / lineup for test setups and for the deployed system.
Configuring test equipment for automated operation: satellite link emulator spectrum analyzer signal generator etc.
Will work with other team members to investigate design approaches prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
Driving your own projects from design through planning to . Also work with teams across Amazon on crossteam initiatives.
Planning and coordinating feature improvements and upgrades.
Analyzing and improving availability efficiency capacity scalability security and performance of our services.
Developing and maintaining tools.
Experience with Linux/Unix
Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
5 years relevant work experience.
5 years of experience in RF design and/or verification
Solid knowledge of distributed version control systems (DVCS) such as Git.
Experience in programming language such as Python Java C or Shell.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and industry best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations.
Experience in using modern CI/CD tools such as Bamboo Jenkins Zuul.
Experience in managing complex build systems within Continuous Integration setup.
Knowledge of Jira/ Confluence administration and development
Excellent customer service communication documentation work prioritization and analytical skills.
Ability and willingness to go above and beyond ones comfort zone when it comes to about other services to help integrate and improve them.
Tuning flows for performance.
A strong understanding of the importance of datadriven decisions as well as how to create store and analyze large datasets.
Passion to invent and create new solutions challenge the status quo and drive positive change.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201200/year in our highest geographic market.
