The Opportunity

Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Project Engineer (Treatment Facilities/Process Engineering positions). This is a regular opportunity in the Strategic Projects Section of the Engineering and Capital Infrastructure Department and has full time hours.

As a Project Engineer working in Treatment Facilities / Process Engineering:

  • You are a key member in the management of water and wastewater treatment facility infrastructure at Halifax Water.
  • You provide leadership in Halifax Water by delivering services that protect public health and the environment through the delivery of capital projects.
  • You are responsible for the provision of professional engineering and project management services for a wide range of capital projects related to water and wastewater treatment facilities infrastructure.
  • Youwill mainly focus on the delivery of projects in support of Halifax Waters longterm plans specific as established in the Infrastructure Master Plans from the Integrated Resource Plan.

To do this job you need:

  • A postsecondary education in Engineering (civil mechanical electrical process or environmental).
  • A Professional Engineer (P.Eng. designation.
  • Five years of progressively responsible related experience in an engineering field (water and wastewater treatment).
  • Ideally have project management experience.
  • A valid NS drivers license.
