- Senior Technician (Environment Officer Class 7
- Ongoing fulltime 35 hours per week) opportunity
- Office location is Lidcombe
- Salary relative to experience and ranges from $105924 to $117031 super
Do you know boats Are you passionate about safety Would you like to help the Water Wetlands and Coastal Science team ensure our facilities fleet and assets are maintained at the highest standards If so then we have a fabulous opportunity for an ongoingSeniorTechnicalOfficer to join our passionate team of environmental scientists and technicians.
This role is diverse and is central to the safe efficient and effective operationofour Branch it is people centric and ensures that we provide the safest work environment possible with the vehicles boats and equipment that our team needs to undertake their important science.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have the skills and experience to:
- Undertake the roleofboatingofficer diveofficer and vehicle fleet manager ensuring safety maintenance and operational status and complianceofteam vessels and vehicles.
- Coordinate and deliver relevant safety training and development activities undertake job safety analyses and safe work method statements for fieldbased staff to ensure our team field activities comply with relevant Workplace Health & Safety requirements and adhere to relevant safety procedures and documentation making sure everyone is safe every day.
- Lead processes that support the managementofthe Branchs fleet assets equipment and facilities. This includes ensuring that assets are utilised efficiently maintained properly and replaced or upgraded when necessary.
Essential requirements
- Degree or qualification in relevant discipline and/or demonstrated experience in operation of a scientific laboratory or research facility
- Extensive boating experience and a minimum Exemption 38 qualification or ability to obtainrequired.
