IMEG is growing and wed love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a SUE Field Technician in our Manassas VA office.As a SUE Field Technician you will be responsible for providing leadership in daily operations of all SUE crew activities. The Technician will be exposed to the daily operations including operating field Subsurface Utility equipment geophysical prospecting for underground utilities and support overall SUE crew Technician will be responsible for providing SUE assistance under leadership from a Crew Chief or Office Coordinator.
Principal Responsibilities:
Perform field work for SUE location scopes of work using appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to accurately designate underground utility layouts and perform routine computations for various project types
Operation maintenance and care of SUE equipment data collection and other location equipment
Transfer files between data collection and internal company project folders
Quality checks and processing of field data. Download maintain and verify accuracy of project data reports and managing database
Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers
Assist in training junior staff members
Operate a company vehicle
Observe safety and security procedures
Required Skills & Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of typical SUE marking techniques including sweep direct connects indirect connects and induction methods
Knowledge of modern SUE equipment devices and methods
Problem solving techniques
Knowledge of jurisdictional and industry requirements
Ability to work in an outdoor environment
Possesses oral and written communication skills
Ability to professionally represent IMEG
Valid drivers license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
Education & Experience:
Associates degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
3 years of experience minimum required 6 preferred in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit walk stand talk see hear and lift objects up to 25 pounds
Occasionally required to drive kneel stoop crouch crawl reach with hands or arms and grasp or pull
Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
