Summary:
The Senior Operator oversees the operation of production machinery and processes ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role involves leading production efforts troubleshooting issues and providing guidance to line operators. The Sr Operator plays a key role in meeting key targets and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and enforce all Department and Plant Safety Rules; increasing the teams knowledge of the importance of each process and policy
Perform equipment start up resets shut down and repairs; partnering with Technician and Engineering teams as necessary
Understand the meaning of each equipment alarm type and the approved method to recover
Respond to and takeaction to resolve equipment process alarms while ensuring safety protocols are followed
Ensure the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on equipment and within the production environment
Report all equipment abnormal situations and any accidents/injuries to Supervisor per the approved method of radio logs meetings etc.
Ensure proper lockout / tagout procedures are utilized and associates in the area have been appropriately trained
Support the development of operation standards and/or work instructions
Support any special projects requested from Department Management or Technical Support.
Perform calibration of equipment and tooling as needed. (Gage and Master List)
Assist line Operators in maintaining tools and fixtures in proper working order to ensure safety quality and productivity
Monitor proper inventory level of critical parts for production as required
Work with other departments / business teams as problems occur.
Summarize and report downtime at the end of the shift
Review previous shifts reports understand concerns and communicate to associates in preshift meeting.
Complete Company and Department required training.
Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards:

o Sort Set in order Shine Standardize Sustain
o Right Location Right Quantity Right Container
Multiple types of chemicals and raw materials are used in the production processes in which an Operator may come in contact

Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Experience:
High School graduate or diploma
13 years of experience with operating and maintaining machine

Knowledge/Skills:
Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations
Demonstrate basic math and reading comprehension.
Ability to monitor gauges dials or other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly.
Easily demonstrate critical thinking problem solving attention to detail decision making and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and electronic communication skills including active listening skills.
Ability to use computers including Microsoft Office and digital tools during daily work assignments and have the aptitude to increase understanding and apply new learnings.
Use of PPE including but not limited to clean room gown mask bouffant cap safety glasses and protective substantial footwear.
In some instances some work centers within production will be required to wear PPE including a fullface respirator and gloves.
Ability to walk and stand for entirety of shift.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50Ibs chest height or above.
Must be able to work with and be near chemicals we use in our production process.
Ability to go up and down steps.
Must be able to push/control a 40Ib cart.
Ability to kneel and bend when performing work.


Additional requirements:

Prompt and regular attendance within our onsite operations
Ability to work 12hour shifts and set work day rotations
Flexibility to work adjusted shifts as necessary
LH Battery will align associates by shift based on level and seniority. Associates identified for second shift may train on first shift initially and then be placed on second shift based on production ramp up schedule and/or business need.
Candidates receiving offers will be offered a specific shift and requests for shift alignment will be considered and processed according to both seniority and business need.
