Description: Teacher capable of teaching Science In Grades 7 and 8

Qualifications: Applicants must have a current Arkansas Teaching License.

Must hold proper Coaching certification through the Arkansas

Department of Education and Arkansas Activities Association/

NFHS Coaches Education Program. Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.

REPORTS TO: Principal assistant principals Athletic Director and/or Head

Coaches

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 205 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs

School Board policies.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Work collaboratively with the content team (PLC) and grade level interdisciplinary team.
2. Teach the Arkansas Science standards associated with Grade 7 and/or Grade 8
3. Implement a variety of effective research based instructional strategies consistently to engage learners with the essential learning standards.
4. Monitor and assess student progress frequently using both formative and summative assessments and provide appropriate feedback.
5. Effectively use and analyze data to adjust instruction and/or support student needs
6. Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier I) to meet the needs of all learners reteaching when needed and extending learning for others.
7. Effectively implement district initiatives.
8. Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures.
9. Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
10. Embrace middle school model and philosophy.

ESSENTIAL COACHING FUNCTIONS:

1. Display loyalty to the head coach principal athletic director and the Athletic Department.
2. Supervise athletes and team assigned to him/ her.
3. Help plan and supervise any special needs/events (awards night parent meeting community service etc..
4. Make suggestions and recommendations that will help the program.
5. Teach and model good sportsmanship towards opponents officials and parents.
6. Support and collaborate with staff in other athletic and academic programs to encourage students to participate in a variety of activities.
7. Follow rules and regulations in the Siloam Springs Athletic Department Coaches and AAA Handbooks.
8. Monitor the academic performance of team members.
9. Help plan and conduct daily practices for the assigned team.
10. Attend preseason organizational meetings as assigned by the Athletic Director.
11. Assist in organizing and running of invitational or AAA tournaments and regular season meets.

Other Job Functions:

1. Have or develop a working knowledge of Scientific Investigation methodologies.
2. Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations.
3. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
4. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
5. Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
6. Serve on committees as assigned.
7. Remain current on instructional practices in education.
