The Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) residency Fall of 2025will provide a dynamic and hands on training experience on the surgical floors ICU clinics and operating rooms. Over the course of the year residents can expect to have time divided between patient management 75 and direct surgical responsibilities 25. Residents will receive initial didactic clinical and laboratory education throughout the year PA residents will rotate through selected surgical experiences. The core rotations will include GI Thoracic Vascular Plastics and Cardiac Surgery. A onemonth rotation through the surgical ICU will be provided as well as an additional elective surgical rotation at a JHH affiliated hospital. When on rotations PA Residents will be working within a team to perform history and physical make preliminary diagnosis for review by physician and issue diagnostic orders. You will learn additional skills: phlebotomy IV placement interpret EKG wound care removal of surgical drains. Advanced procedures including central line arterial line and chest tube placement thoracentesis bronchoscopies under supervision. More details regarding the JHH PA Surgical Residency
Shifts:8hour day shifts; Saturdays working 6 out of 7 days

You must be fully credentialled by The Johns Hopkins Hospital medical board with staff privileges to start working.
