Elementary Computer Lab TeacherTitle: Computer Lab TeacherQualifications: As determined by the Arkansas Department of EducationReports to: Elementary PrincipalSupervises: Paraprofessionals and volunteersStart Date: August 1 2025 General Job ResponsibilitiesAn Elementary Computer Lab Teacher even without formal teaching certification plays a crucial role in fostering students technological skills and supporting educators in integrating technology into the curriculum. The primary responsibilities include instructing students on computer usage keyboarding skills academic related programs maintaining the computer lab and assisting students with technological needs.Key Responsibilities:Supports students in providing technology enhanced instruction within the computer lab. Works with teachers to ensure that students receive instruction on the State Assessment (ATLAS).Instructs students on keyboarding according to State standards and district elementary keyboarding programs. Trains students on proper use of district computer equipment according to the Districts Acceptable Use Policy. Assists teachers in the selection of classcorrelated computer lab activities. Maintains an environment conducive to effective learning in the computer lab.Maintains and coordinates a lab schedule to maximize instructional use of the computer lab. Maintains the schools computer lab ensuring that all equipment is in good working order. Provides basic maintenance and repair of equipment and requests assistance from District Technology when unable to repair equipment. Maintains an inventory of all technology related equipment in the computer lab. Assist students in the use of educational software and computer technology as it relates to classroom instruction.Qualifications:Educational Background: High School Diploma. Related experience with computersTechnical Skills: Proficiency in operating various computer systems and software applications.
