Reporting to Director Capacity Access & Flow the Lead Capacity Access & Flow is part of a team that is responsible for supporting transformation of our health care system by advancing acute care programs and communitybased care initiatives that support seamless transitions for patients across the continuum of care. In collaboration with provincial regional and local stakeholders this position will support capacity building of the community to ensure accessible and sustainable health care within Ontario Health Central.
Here is what you will be doing:
Identify and coordinate opportunities to advance local and regional programs within Ontario Health Central through a solid understanding of Ontarios health care system key priorities local health care needs and innovative best practices.
Review analyze and synthesize health system planning and utilization data for the purpose of evaluating proposals identifying gaps and opportunities and making recommendations that align with provincial and local priorities and needs particularly within the acute care system.
Participate in and contribute to provincial planning activities utilizing appropriate quantitative and qualitative methodologies; conduct effective stakeholder engagement related to program development implementation planning monitoring and quality improvement initiatives to enhance capacity access and flow.
Lead key regional initiatives within the Capacity Access & Flow portfolio to support the health system transformation agenda. Work collaboratively with hospitals health service providers and other key stakeholders to identify risks and issues problem solve support change management and develop mitigation strategies.
Support region wide committees as required and monitor achievement of measureable deliverables and outcomes in relation to the goals and objectives of the committees. Ensure client/caregiver involvement is integrated into committee structures planning and evaluation.
Manages project plans and budget allocation for planning & integration initiatives.
Support teams to ensure health service provider and service provider organization adherence to health service accountability agreements.
Understand and comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act; Regulations; the organizations health and safety practices; policies and procedures.
Contribute to a culture of workplace safety which includes respect accountability and open communication in a psychologically safe environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree / postgraduate college diploma in health administration health planning business administration or a related field; Masters level degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience in a multistakeholder environment preferably in the health care industry. Clinical or management experience in acute care or related field is an asset.
Knowledge and Skills
Good knowledge of and proven ability to apply planning and analysis methodologies; uses sound judgment to problem solve and make effective recommendations.
Understanding of the current and changing dynamics of the Ontario healthcare system and issues.
Proven ability to analyzes quantitative and qualitative information from a variety of sources such as information systems/databases provincial reports financial information provider and public engagement.
Proven skill and experience leading and implementing complex initiatives aimed at accelerating transformation change management and program development within a health care environment.
Project Management experience preferably within a healthcare environment with proven ability to move complex projects from start to finish. Understanding and experience with embedding quality improvement initiatives.
Successful experience with negotiation and facilitation techniques and processes including experience developing and facilitating complex sessions involving diverse stakeholders.
Solid written and verbal communication skills. Internally communicates with colleagues throughout the organization; externally communicates directly with various stakeholders.
Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a fastpaced environment with multiple priorities.
