Behavioral Intervention SpecialistRole: To provide crisis counseling and supportive measures to students to promote academic and mental health goals in a ten 10 month school setting.Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop behavior support plans for students implementation of interventions and restorative practices.
Assesses student needs for behavior intervention and implementation as alternative to suspension.
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of records and submit reports as required for intervention data tracking.
Liaison between home and school to improve learning while promoting positive life plans for eligible students.
Supervise implementation of skills acquisition and behavior change programs and procedures. Provide individual group and crisis interventions.
Interfaces with building principals and mental health agencies regarding referring eligible students when needed.
Facilitate professional development sessions on student wellbeing and restorative practices at staff meetings and PD days.
Run student groups for healthy relationships stress management and conflict resolution.
Attends conferences staff meetings workshops and participates in professional growth activities as directed by Elementary Principals.
Advises committees as requested by the Elementary Building Principals.
Attends administrative meetings as requested by supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Elementary Building Principals.
