Job Description
Job Title: Data Modeling Manager
Location: Cleveland
Job Summary:
As the Data Modeling Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of data models that underpin our data infrastructure and support our business objectives. You will lead a team of data modelers collaborating with crossfunctional teams to design and implement data models ensuring data accuracy consistency and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling Leadership: Lead the data modeling team in the creation and maintenance of conceptual logical and physical data models that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
- Database Design: Design and optimize database schemas ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval and providing guidance on indexing partitioning and performance tuning.
- Data Integration: Oversee the development of data integration solutions and ETL processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
- Data Quality: Implement data quality standards and best practices to ensure data accuracy completeness and consistency.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including business analysts data scientists and developers to understand data requirements and provide data modeling solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive data model documentation data dictionaries and metadata to facilitate understanding and use of data models across the organization.
- Project Management: Manage data modeling projects from initiation to completion including resource allocation budgeting and timelines.
- Data Governance: Implement data governance policies and practices to ensure data security compliance with data privacy regulations and data access controls.
- Training and Development: Mentor and develop data modelers providing guidance and opportunities for skill enhancement.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging data modeling technologies industry trends and best practices and implement improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems SQL and scripting languages.
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management experience and familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR HIPAA).
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align data modeling efforts with business objectives.
