Description

Are you looking to begin your career in social services Being a Therapeutic Mentor at Bay State Community Services (BSCS) will give you support and training in a teambased approach so that you can make a difference to a youth who needs behavioral health supports.


What you will be doing to make a difference

  • Making authentic connections with the youth (males females nonbinary confirming).
  • Working collaboratively with the youths team.
  • Developing activities that will increase social skills communication and peer relationships.
  • Using strengthbased interventions that address the youths behavioral health needs.
  • Supporting the youth and family in developing a risk management plan developed with a master level clinician
  • Driving is required

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Human Service field and 1 year relevant experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth; OR
  • Associates degree in Human Service field and 1 year relevant experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth; OR
  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 2 years relevant experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • All are welcome but MALES strongly encouraged to apply in order to provide supports to male youths in the program
  • Knowledge of and ability to assess human growth and development principals of Wraparound and Systems theory
