Safety Monitor & Physical Education Instructor Grades 7 & 8Malden Catholic A Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Codivisional Middle and High School for young men and women seeks a candidate for a Safety Monitor & Middle School Physical Education Instructor for theschool year. Minimum 2 years teaching experience is preferred.Skills/Qualifications:Willingness to support the Catholic mission of the schoolAn appreciation for the developmental needs of students in grades 712A desire to work closely with students in collaboration with teachers and administratorsStrong communication skillsStrong facilitator of student conflict resolutionPassion for student health and wellnessDescriptionThe Safety Monitor reports to Mr. Gary Molea Dean of Students. He or she will meet with Mr. Molea daily discuss events of the previous day and address issues as needed. The Mission of the Safety Monitor is to keep students safe by providing a safe environment. This environment must provide for proper decorum free from bad behavior including but not limited to bullying threats and improper words and touching. All members of the Malden Catholic community including but not limited to visitors should expect to be treated in a respectful and professional manner by the Safety Monitor.Malden Catholic and the Safety Monitor takes seriously its responsibility to protect the rights of all members of our community and will not stop people in a manner that unlawfully discriminates on the basis of race age sex national origin ethnicity religion gender gender identity gender presentation or sexual orientation.As Physical Education Instructor this individual will lead regular PE classes designed to inspire personal fitness and holistic wellness. The instructor will plan activities lessons and opportunities for students to grow in their physical health and knowledge of healthy living habits.Duties/Expectations:Lead Physical Education classes for 7th and 8th grade studentsInspire students to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle in accordance with their own abilitiesRemain current on accepted school safety procedures and studentparent handbook including dress codeReport emergencies immediatelyExterior doors and bathrooms should constantly be checked to ensure security and safety. Exceptions would be access to building for events.Detects investigates and reports unauthorized or suspicious persons vehicles and activities.Monitors and directs student movement throughout assigned buildings and hallways.Notifies the administrative staff police fire department or other appropriate authorities of Security or emergency situationsVisually patrol buildings building grounds and parking lots to observe unusual behavior and to prevent theft and vandalismProvide ongoing contact with the Dean of Students in the event of safety violations on campusReport school parking violation notices where necessaryAnswer routine inquiries and direct visitors to appropriate areasPerform other duties as assignedMalden Catholic encourages all members of the faculty in addition to teaching to be involved in the life of the school beyond the classroom supporting the wide range of cocurricular intramural and interscholastic programs we offer.Malden Catholic located seven miles north of Boston educates students in grades 712 drawing students from over 40 communities.
