Reporting directly to the CAR Director the person will be in charge of the management coordination and overseeing of all general accounting and financial activities including monthly quarterly and annual reporting and consolidation of all the entities within the scope ensuring IFRS and local GAAP compliance.
In this role the Subcluster Manager will lead a multicultural CAR team working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and efficient financial operation being responsible for accurate and timely management of financial records while driving process and system improvements to support the companys objectives.
Role overview:
Ensure fiscal and accounting integrity and documentation based on local GAAP and IFRS
Supervise monthend close and manage interactions with Business Area operations Business Controlling and Shared Services Center (SSC) when applicable
Ensure all financial reporting for his/her perimeter/organization
Ensure all taxrelated issues for his/her perimeter/organization
Ensure quality of Internal Control of financial processes
Collaborate with internal stakeholders for legal entity projects and compliance
Reports To: CAR Director South & East Europe Middle East & South Africa
Direct reports: 9 (Accountants GR CPA Milos Tax Finance Mgr Turkey Bulgaria)
Responsibilities:
Supervise monthend closing activities (R and C packs)
Check the accuracy of deliverables within his/her scope within the allocated time
Validate provisions and accruals
Responsible for statutory filings reconciling statutory and management books
Monitor regulatory changes in accounting and taxes
Responsible for local annual audits
Solve internal audit points related to finance
Ensure management procedures are put into practice
Manage relationships with key points of contact within Consolidation Accounting & Reporting (CAR department with Business Controlling and Shared Services Center when applicable)
Supports costs and Production Analyst CPA (Plant Controller) for the plants in the scope
Identify problem areas in the processes and work with the team to generate solutions
Leading financial reporting projects such as implementation of changes in accounting standards drive and supervise the implementation of new solutions and automations into the ERP (i.e. My data).
Set priorities alert management of any identified risk
Participate in finance transformation projects at entity level when applicable (SSC SAP implementation merger any other application needed at country level
Manages local CAR team being in charge of the team members individual development and securing key roles.
Handling of specific business cases as mergers acquisitions divestments subsidies.
Key competencies :
Deep knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP IFRS) practices standards laws and regulations tax computations with specific focus on Greece international experience will be a plus.
Ability to handle complex financial information detail oriented and with topnotch analytical skills
Ability to create strong bonds with other people inspires trust and confidence in both his/her peers senior and external partners
Demonstrate good communication skills to convey information
Have a keen eye for details ability to manage multitasks / project and meet tight deadlines is analytical and highly organized
Work comfortably in a highly collaborative setting have a confident and outgoing personality able to work effectively across organizational lines and have strong writing and verbal skills
Proficient in English and Greek another local language will be a plus
Proficient in financial software as SAP Google suite package
Experience in specific business cases as mergers acquisitions divestments
Experience as team leader
Ideal background/ experience:
510 years experience in a leading finance position as an Accounting Manager with experience in managing and developing an accounting and reporting team and deep knowledge of IFRS principles.
Industrial accounting background is needed preferably in mining industries.
A class signatory rights valid for Greece
A bachelors degree in finance is required and a chartered certified accountant (ACCA) certification will be well appreciated. External auditing experience and a masters degree in finance business or economics are considered a plus.
International people management experience is a plus
