The Role:
As a Structural Engineer you will work on a portfolio of projects alongside other members of the team and colleagues from across the business.The Structural Analysis team uses advanced finite elementbased structural analysis codes supported by classical analytical methods to simulate the response of complex and often novel materials and structures in challenging realworld environments.
Daytoday youll:
- Assess collisions between small dronesand crewed aircraft using a combination of validated simulation methods and fullscale testing
- Developand validatesimulation methods to evaluate the effect of emerging directed energy laser weapons on target structures
- Remove risk from the development of large composite structures for major UK maritime programmes
- Supportthe development of hypersonic airframe technologies
Essential experience of the Structural Engineer:
- Experienced structural analyst with strong analytical and numerical skills
- Expert in finite element modelling methods using ABAQUS
- Ability to deliver projects that include high levels of research and methoddevelopment as well as undertaking traditional engineering assessments and designsupport activities
- Knowledge of adjacent technical disciplines such as design manufacturing materials and aerodynamics/hydrodynamics
- Track record in writing highquality technical reports and delivery of presentations to customers and audiences at all levels

This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough. Hybrid working patterns are available.
