Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Spec Systems Engineer

Job Code: 22151

Job Location: Greenville TX (OnSite)

Job Schedule: 1st Shift 9/80

Job Description:

The Sr Specialist Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the requirements design development test and integration of complex specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand physical architectures incorporating voice video and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
  • Understand test integration verification and validation planning.
  • Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
  • Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
  • Perform requirement traceability.
  • Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
  • Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs.
  • Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to nontechnical professionals.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems using logical engineering thought processes.
  • Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Understand test integration verification and validation planning.
  • Be able to write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
  • Understand requirement traceability.
  • Be able to prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to nontechnical professionals.
  • Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose
  • Knowledge of the systems engineering trade study process
  • Experience writing subsystem specifications based on system level requirements
  • Experience conducting verification testing
  • Excellent written oral and presentation communications skills
  • Experience developing authoring and implementing system test plans
  • Willingness to travelup to 25. (Domestic/International)
  • Experience working with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers
  • Engineering efforts involving FAAcertified general category aircraft
  • Handson experience with testing integrating and verifying software and/or hardware.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with six(6 years of prior Systems Engineering experience.
  • OR Graduate Degree with four(4 years of prior Systems Engineering experience.
  • In lieu of a degree minimum of tenyears of prior Systems Engineering experience.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret w/SCI.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • CompTIA Security Certification.
  • CI Poly.
  • Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support.
  • Security Professional Certification.
