Job Summary
The Onsite IT Computer and Hardware Technician plays a key role in maintaining the hardware systems and technical infrastructure that ensures efficient business operations. This position is responsible for troubleshooting installing and maintaining computer hardware networking equipment and other essential office technology. The technician will collaborate with the IT team to provide topnotch support to endusers ensuring all IT systems are functioning optimally and resolving hardwarerelated issues promptly.
Primary Responsibilities Hardware & IT Support 50
Install configure and maintain computer hardware including desktops laptops printers and peripheral devices.
Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues including networkrelated hardware and systems.
Perform routine maintenance on office technology and IT infrastructure to prevent technical disruptions.
Respond to and resolve hardwarerelated service desk tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
Manage the setup and configuration of new equipment for employees and ensure proper functionality.
Assist with network equipment installation including routers switches and wireless access points.
Ensure that all hardware systems are compliant with company standards and security policies.
Assist with software installations updates and hardware upgrades.
Maintain detailed records of hardware configurations repairs and replacements.
Secondary Responsibilities IT Support & Training 50
Provide technical support to employees for any issues related to hardware and equipment usage.
Support IT staff in troubleshooting and resolving general IT problems and performing routine system updates.
Offer training sessions for employees on how to use new hardware or technology efficiently.
Serve as a backup for essential IT support functions during busy times or employee absence.
Assist with maintaining inventory and documentation for all office IT equipment and hardware.
Assist with IT Help Desk Tickets: Respond to IT help desk tickets by troubleshooting hardware and software issues ensuring quick and effective resolutions.
Documentation: Create and update technical documentation including user guides FAQs and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure users can easily access solutions and best practices.
IT Support: Support IT staff in the installation configuration and troubleshooting of software and hardware systems. This may include setting up new equipment or diagnosing issues with existing systems.
Process Improvement: Research IT best practices and contribute to the optimization of internal IT processes to increase efficiency and reduce technical downtime.
Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work with crossfunctional teams to gather information and enhance the quality of IT documentation ensuring that it aligns with user needs and technical requirements.
Organize IT Resources: Maintain an organized database of IT resources and documentation ensuring all IT support materials are up to date and easily accessible.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Hardware & IT Support Skills (Primary):
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and networking equipment.
Experience with installing configuring and maintaining various types of IT equipment (e.g. printers desktops laptops routers).
Solid understanding of network architecture and basic IT infrastructure.
Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows macOS Linux).
Ability to resolve technical issues efficiently and communicate solutions effectively.
Technical Skills (Secondary):
Basic knowledge of office software tools and peripherals (e.g. printers scanners projectors).
Experience in providing help desk support and responding to IT service requests.
Understanding of software installation updates and general IT troubleshooting.
Education & Experience:
Associates degree or certification in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of handson experience in IT support and hardware troubleshooting.
Prior experience with network administration or system management is a plus.
Additional Skills:
Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to effectively communicate technical information to nontechnical staff.
Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
Bilingual abilities in English/Spanish is a plus.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Office environment with periodic movement for hardware setups repairs and maintenance.
Ability to handle the physical setup installation and transportation of IT equipment (e.g. computers printers).
Primary work involves desk work and interaction with physical IT systems and equipment.
