Are you ready to take your career to the next level Caterpillar Inc. is looking for a passionate and skilled Test & Validation Associate Technologist to join our dynamic team at the Peoria Proving Grounds!

What You Will Do:

• Innovate and Collaborate:Work in our Strain Gage lab applying strain gages thermocouples slip rings and telemetry to machine components.
• Ensure Excellence:Guarantee ontime delivery functionality and quality across multiple facilities.
• Lead and Organize:Coordinate and prioritize workloads and maintain inventory for daily lab operations.
• Train and Document:Share your expertise by training others and documenting processes related to strain gages.
• HandsOn Work:Apply instruments troubleshoot and calibrate machines and components as needed.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

• Technical Excellence:
  • 2 or 4year Degree in STEM OR applicable military or industry training in electronics or measurement.
  • Advanced electronics troubleshooting skills to repair straingaged components.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft software including Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook & Teams.
• Analytical Thinking:
  • Excellent knowledge of strain theory.
  • Ability to read machining prints and schematics.
• Product Testing:
  • Instrumentation experience applying strain gauges thermocouples slip rings and telemetry to machine components including rotating shafts pins and bolts.
  • Experience weatherproofing and protecting gages on machine components against harsh outdoor conditions.
  • Experience soldering strain gauges & wire harnesses.
  • Experience calibrating straingaged components using eDaq data acquisition Strainsert load indicator and Fluke multimeter hardware.
• Other Requirement:
  • Physically able to climb safely on and off large earthmoving equipment.

• Experience in the following:
  • Mentoring others in strain theory and application
  • Component and transducer applications on test machines
  • Operating cranes & forklifts
  • DATK for data analysis and interpretation
  • Order management
• Understanding of the theory of sensors transducers thermocouples and strain gages
• Aggressive approach to new technologies in the area of strain gages and their applications
• Capable of communicating technical needs with peers engineers mechanics and operators
• Project management and organization experience

Additional Info:

• This is an onsite role located at the Peoria Proving Grounds in Washington IL.
• Domestic relocation may be available for those who qualify.
• Limited travel is possible.
• ISE assignments are NOT available.
• Visa sponsorship is NOT available.

Summary Pay Range:
