Job Description

Green Mountain Union High School is looking for a licensed special education teacher to work with middle school and high school students for theschool year. RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing instruction to students with disabilities individually in groups or within their classroom. Collaborating with teachers to identify best practices for differentiated instruction designing and implementing Individual Education Plans for students. In addition the Special Education Case Manager shall collect review update and securely store student files convene and facilitate IEP and special education comprehensive evaluation meetings and reviews. Experience developing postsecondary transition plans planning behavior assessments specialized reading writing or math instruction as well as familiarity with technology/digital learning and coteaching preferred.QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication skills including interpersonal written and oral. Knowledge of curriculum modification based on understanding of learning theory and pedagogy practices in basic skill areas of reading writing speaking and mathematics. Ability to work with diverse populations of students staff and parents. Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to collaboration with regular education staff and inclusion of special needs students in regular education environment. Knowledge and skills regarding Individual Education Plan (IEP) development.
