Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in special education higher education rehabilitation counseling disability studies non or other relevant field and a minimum of one years experience working with inclusive postsecondary education programs and students with intellectual disability is required. Must be able to travel regionally as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in in special education higher education rehabilitation counseling disability studies or other relevant field and a minimum of three years experience working with inclusive postsecondary education programs and students with intellectual disability. Directed/managed a college program for students with ID and collaborated/consulted with other programs ideally experience with engaging with a state and/or regional alliance. Legislative/policylevel experience preferred. Marketing and/or awareness campaign experience preferred. This is a leadership position; person should be passionate and able to read and synthesize relevant literature related to IPSEs. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities in higher education related issues and supports. Knowledge of and fieldbased experience with inclusive postsecondary program development implementation and evaluation. Understanding of state and federal policies impacting inclusive postsecondary education. Knowledge of and experience with state or regional alliances in inclusive postsecondary education. Knowledge of strategies for communication to audiences within and external to the university and the consortium. Ability to anticipate needs to take initiative and manage conflicting priorities in a fastpaced work environment. Ability to work with a wide range of personnel having varying levels of administrative and organizational abilities. Ability to remain calm under pressure and in high stress situations. Strong knowledge of marketing and generating awareness of programs. Proven followthrough on complex tasks to completion. Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to address a range of audiences including internal contacts community agencies funding sources compliance organizations and other relevant outside constituents. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational capacities. Strong commitment to customer service.
Work Schedule
Standard working schedule: 8:30am 5:00pm Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
