Tessera is seeking a trustworthy and hardworking Heavy Equipment Metal Mechanic with a cando attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Diagnose malfunctions and perform minor to major repairs on automotive light medium and heavy equipment.
Accomplish minor repairs and perform services as outlined in established technical manuals
Perform inspection and repair on brakes suspension wheels hubs and steering systems.
Understand and follow technical manuals lube orders wiring and hydraulic schematics to ensure proper diagnosis
Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts removing components removal and installation of
assemblies and installation of components
Spot painting & repair and Corrosion Prevention
Operate and maintain welding equipment including oxyacetylene MetalInertGas (MIG) TungstenInertGas
(TIG) Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and plasma cutting tools as required.
Perform welding tasks to repair and reinforce structural and mechanical components of equipment.
Ensure all welding operations meet or exceed technical publication standards specifications and sound trade
Qualifications:
35 years of automotive and welding experience is required. Must currently hold a Welding certification.
Working knowledge of maintenance of military/civilian vehicles and equipment is required.
ASE Certifications or must be in the process of testing for ASE certifications is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a casebycase basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state drivers license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tesseras insurance. Must have a CDL Class B or be able to obtain within 9 months of hire.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and EVerify will be conducted for this position.
