Description
As aMedical Childcare Assistant you will contribute to a great life for children and young adults by supporting their health skill development and retention. You will provide and assist with care and treatment services to children as designated by their individualized care plan. You will also collaborate directly with an interdisciplinary team of nurses and therapists to assist with child development.

ChildServes Medical Childcare program offers specialized weekday care for children and young adults with medical needs and developmental delays. The program includes onsite therapy services like physical occupational and speech therapy. Our Day Health program focuses on each childs overall health. For this reason we provide therapeutic activities to develop coordination selfconfidence social competencies and more.
Benefits and Compensation:
The starting pay rate for this position is $16.04/hour.

Fulltime staff at Des Moines Medical Childcare who work their scheduled shifts and meet eligibility requirements will receive a $300 bonus per quarter.
This role is fulltime and eligible for health benefits includingmedical/dental/vision insurance paid time off and a 403B retirement account. PTO is frontloaded upon hire and starts accruing immediately.

- Monday Friday 9:30am6pm hours may vary.
- 40 hours per week full time
What Youll Do
- Assists the clients at ChildServein becoming as independent as possible through skill development and retention
- Follows all aspects of the care plan within scope to include nursing therapy and behavior support
- Provides a therapeutic environment for care and treatment
- Follows change of shift procedures to assure communication and continuity of care
- Provides care within scope as designated by nurse
- Maintains accurate complete and timely records
- Communicates with children and young adults licensed professionals ChildServe personnel families schools and the public in a courteous and professional manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
What Youll Need:
- Preferred: Two year degree in human services or education but will consider those pursuing their associates or bachelors degree. Therapy majors considered also.
- Preferred: Experience working with children with disabilities.
- Must pass the Iowa DCI child and adult abuse and criminal background check prior to hire and every two years thereafter and complete the child abuse affidavit.
- Must also pass the National FBI criminal record check.
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading writing and speaking the English language
