Role Name: Medical Receptionist
Schedule: Part-time Monday Wednesday & Friday 9 AM to 5 PM Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM
Client Timezone: Eastern Time (EST/EDT)
Join a growing startup dental practice in New Jersey as their Medical Receptionist and become an integral part of their patient care team. This exciting opportunity allows you to support a newly established independently-owned dental clinic thats scaling up and building their foundation for long-term success. Youll play a crucial role in ensuring seamless patient experiences while working in a dynamic startup environment where your contributions directly impact the practices growth. As a key team member youll have the flexibility to expand your skills across multiple areas of the business while maintaining the core focus on exceptional patient care and administrative excellence.
Manage patient onboarding and appointment scheduling through web-based practice management software
Handle insurance verification eligibility checks and billing processes
Answer patient phone calls and provide customer service during business hours (9 AM - 6 PM Eastern)
Provide phone coverage on clinic closure days to manage patient inquiries and expectations
Process patient communications including text messages and insurance card submissions
Support marketing initiatives including email campaigns and promotional activities
Assist with inventory management and basic accounting tasks
Coordinate with on-site staff for seamless patient care delivery
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Adapt to various administrative tasks as needed in a startup environment
1-3 years of experience in medical/dental administrative roles
Active HIPAA certification or willingness to obtain certification
Experience with web-based practice management software and patient scheduling systems
Strong customer service and communication skills for patient interactions
Ability to work Eastern Time business hours (9 AM - 6 PM)
Flexibility to handle multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities
Experience with insurance verification and billing processes
Reliable internet connection (minimum 25 MBPS)
Willingness to work in a startup environment with evolving responsibilities
