Are you passionate about providing exceptional care and leadership Were looking for a dedicated Direct Care Supervisor to play a key role in supporting the wellbeing of residents in our community. What youll do:
Supervisory
- Provides clinical guidance to the Resident Care Assistants (RCAs) and Medication Technicians (MTs) on the performance of their duties.
- Oversees and assists the RCAs and MTs with job related duties ensures staff is competent and compassionate provides ongoing feedback and participates in employee performance reviews.
- Responsible for coaching training and mentoring the RAs and MTs.
- Assists with the onboarding and orientation of new team members.
- Works collaboratively with Catered Living leadership to ensure the department is adequately staffed delegating and reassigning staff to best meet the needs of the residents.
- Operates in the role of the Designated Manager on Duty in the absence of the Assisted Living and Memory Care Manager.
- Evaluates and directly supervises designated staff on assigned shift and communicates with department managers as indicated.
- Attends staff meetings and monthly supervisor meetings.
Clinical Support
- Completes required administrative and clinical tasks.
- Provides treatments injections or medications to residents.
- Process medication orders from physicians and/or nurse practitioner.
- Communicates with families and physicians regarding resident care needs and medication changes.
- Conduct lab draws as ordered from the Physician.
Resident Support
- Ensures documentation is comprehensive and informative.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
- Encourages each residents autonomy and dignity.
What it takes:
- Must possess an uptodate CPR and First Aid certification
- Previous handson experience and training on injections and wound care and the ability to successfully pass a competency evaluation by an RN Instructor/Trainer.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Resident Care Assistant/Med Tech or equivalent healthcare experience
- At least 1 year of experience handling lab draws
- Experience working with the elderly preferred
- Completion of courses in geriatrics preferred
- Experience in a supervisor or lead role within a fast paced healthcare environment preferred
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited school preferred
- Must be able to safely lift push pull and carry up to a minimum of 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds must require assistance or using equipment for task to be performed safely.
