Position Summary
The conference and guest operations unit is responsible for organizing and leading the summer conference business that generates $1.0 M 1.2M in annual revenue. The Conference Service Manager (Temp) works closely with many staff and faculty across the university as well as visitors to our campus. The positions primary responsibility is the support of the planning and of all athletic academic and other affiliated conferences that utilize housing resources during the summer (May July). This position along with seasonal labor is responsible for ensuring that the clients camp/conference runs smoothly to ensure their ongoing business. The position also liaisons with parking dining and classroom reservations to assist in supporting our clients experience on campus. The Conference Service Manager (Temp) will report to the Assistant Director of Conferences & Guest Services. Specific duties include: Administration & Organization. Client relations pre during and postcamp/conference. Works collaboratively with Facilities Residential Education Housekeeping and Housing Support to provide a seamless summer program. Manages workflow processes of all summer conference details and delegates tasks to other staff. Assists will postconference billing and financial transactions of group charges.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Strong communication and administration skills. Demonstrated ability to learn new software quickly.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Prior work experience in a Higher Education setting. Experience working in a diverse setting with high student contact. Prior supervision experience.
