Pikes Peak State College is located at the foot of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs Colorado. PPSC offers broad programs in transfer occupational and preparatory subjects emphasizing student and community needs. Colorado Springs is a great city to both work and live. This position is located at the Pikes Peak State Centennial Campus. Duties:This fulltime position is located in the Facilities department and provides journey level electrical installation maintenance and repairs to ensure the campus is safe secure and fully operational. Provides electrical construction support to minor renovation and new construction projects at PPSC. Analyzes electrical equipment and circuits such as motors magnetic starters lighting circuits power distribution panels fire alarm systems security systems smoke detectors electrical door openers and emergency lighting systems to determine proper operation. Troubleshoots boiler control panels and chiller control panels; replaces or repairs burned out or defective equipment; and replaces burned out lamps and ballasts. Works with power and hand tools to repair or replace equipment wiring and fixtures. Assembles installs and tests electrical equipment fixtures and appliances. Schedules and performs preventive and corrective maintenance such as cleaning and adjusting motor magnetic starters sensors smoke alarms motor control circuits lighting contactor magnetic door alarm systems and electric door openers. Performs preventative maintenance on all types of equipment. This includes cleaning and adjusting motor magnetic starts sensors smoke alarms motor control circuits lighting contractors magnetic doors electrical door openers. Attends training to stay up to date with electrical codes and software. Performs daily inspections in each building to determine if there are building issues and if so determines the urgency of the problem. Position provides professional resources and support to supervisor by reading designing drawing and interpreting blueprints diagrams and electrical codes. Communicates information effectively orally and in writing to staff contractors electrical inspectors supervisors administrators architects engineers and utilities representatives. Position assists other trades and staff with other building trades such as plumbing carpentry and grounds as needed and requires a general knowledge of building maintenance.Position assists with snow removal operations and other department needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current valid licensure as a Journeyman Electrician from the Colorado Electrical Board with skilled experience in the commercial or industrialelectrical construction field. You must submit a copy of your journeyman license with application in order to be considered. Do not use see resume statements on yourapplication. Your application must be completed in its entirety documenting your relevant work experience and must be documented as the primary function of the work assignment.(Parttime experience will be prorated)
