Job Description

The Construction Safety Specialist at Haleon ensures all construction and engineering activities onsite are safe and comply with Haleon standards and EHS regulations. In this role your day to day involves developing implementing and overseeing the construction safety program for employees contractors and visitors. Your key responsibilities would include:

  • Safety Program Development: Creating and updating safety policies procedures and programs to meet Haleon standards and local regulations. Conducting risk assessments and hazard analyses.

  • Training and Education: Providing safety training conducting toolbox talks and ensuring all personnel are aware of safety protocols and emergency procedures.

  • Site Inspections and Audits: Performing regular inspections conducting safety audits reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.

  • Incident Investigations and Reporting: Investigating accidents incidents and nearmisses preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Staying updated on safety regulations and industry best practices. Ensuring all activities comply with relevant regulations and maintaining records of safetyrelated activities.

  • Emergency Response: Developing and implementing emergency response plans coordinating drills and acting as a first responder to onsite emergencies.

  • Communication: Collaborating with project managers and site supervisors to promote a culture of safety. Communicating safety expectations and performance to all levels of the organization and liaising with regulatory agencies and external auditors.

Additional responsibilities include managing the site contractor safety program supporting risk reduction activities overseeing the PTW system reviewing and approving engineering works and representing the site at the Global Construction Management Communities of Practices.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science Engineering OR 3 years in construction safety

  • Proven leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics it would be a plus:

  • Certification as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodologies

  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards (NFPA)

  • Indepth Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety.

  • Advanced analytical and problemsolving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Time management skills and ability to work in a fastpaced environment.

Location: This role is located onsite at our Lincoln NE facility.
