AMD together we advance
The person will be part of AMDs highly experienced and talented team of engineers working on processor performance modeling and microarchitecture development and will work closely with AMDs CPU and SOC performance architects.
Skill set needed: Strong knowledge of computer architecture with good experience of working and developing microarchitectural timing simulator C programming.
Beside architecture and C programming knowledge if the candidate has one or more of the following thatll be a big plus.
- Experience on workloads characterization program analysis benchmarking using actual hardware performance counters or different tools.
- Knowledge of python or some other scripting language
- Knowledge of Verilog/VHDL
- x86 assembly language programming
Job description: The person will be working closely with AMDs processor architects and performance architects. The work involves
- Exploring microarchitectural ideas and evaluating them for AMDs future processors
- Modeling various microarchitectural features on simulator and evaluating their performance.
- Developing tests to measure performance on simulator actual hardware and RTL design
- Benchmark characterization and bottleneck analysis on different hardware platforms
