WorkAble Graduate Internship Program for People with Disabilities

The WorkAble Internship Program is a paid twelvemonth BC Public Service work experience program for recent postsecondary graduates who selfidentify as having a disability. This unique program provides learning coaching and mentorship throughout the internship and interns will gain valuable skills and public service experience.All applicants receive coaching throughout the recruitment process regardless of whether they are successful at securing an internship.

Multiple fulltime and parttime internship positions are available from September 8 2025to September 4 2026.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for the WorkAble Internship Program you must:

  • Selfidentify as a person with a disability; and
  • Must reside inB.C. for the duration of the program September 8 2025 September 4 2026; and
  • Have completed the graduation requirements for a 2year Diploma Associate Degree Undergraduate Degree or a Graduate Degree from a recognized postsecondary institution between the dates of September 2022and September2025.


Note: You may be required to provide medical documentationabout your disability to assist usin providing accommodation support.

About these Positions:
There are multiple fulltime and parttime internship positions available from September 8 2025to September 4 2026.

Internships may be located in multiple communities around the Province of BC. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.

Some positions may have flexible work options available; these positions may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Some positions may work up to full time from their home in B.C. subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Some positions may have onsite requirements.

A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required. Some positions may require a Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) or Enhanced Security Screening (ESS).

Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.

APPLICATION PROCESS:
There are three stages to the application process:

  1. Resume and Questionnaire
  2. Written Assignment
  3. Interview


In Stage 1 please review the Job Profiles (attached at the bottom of this page). When you complete the Questionnaire you will be asked to indicate your preferred Top 3 positions from the Job Profiles.

Successful candidates will be required to provide the following:

  1. Two references: professional and/or academic
  2. Verification of postsecondary graduation requirements for a 2year Diploma associate degree Undergraduate Degree or a Graduate Degree have been met and are between the dates of September 2022and September2025
  3. Authorization for Criminal Record Check (CRC) and/or Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) or Enhanced Security Screening (ESS).
