Job Description
Plan manage and optimize quality activities to ensure products and services meet customerspecific requirements. Must come from a production/sheet metal environment.
- Assist workshop staff on quality issues and communicate quality control information to all relevant departments
- Manage NonConformance queries
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues
- Manage outsourced inspection activities like Dye pen MPI XRay AIA and pressure Testing
- Prepare Quality Control plans
- Manage new product samplemaking and approval process (ISIR process)
- Measurement of products using various instruments & gauges
- Accurate completion and timely submission of product data packs.
- Internal & supplier audits
- Ensure all quality records are maintained for traceability
- Ensure quality assurance is built in the process
- Train employees on quality control
- Inspection equipment calibration & control
- Defect outflow investigation
- Jig/ Fixture control
- Review job requirements based on product design and contractual requirements
- Technical reviews
- Daily planning for inspection & testing
- Initiate coordinate and enforce quality assurance systems
- Train & ensure competency of employees with regards to quality
- Ensure that all inspection tasks are performed
- Liaise with designer client and other stakeholders to maximize quality
- Provide root cause analysis and execute corrective action plans
- Prepare clear and concise reports
- Manage the performance ofquality equipment
- Create work instructions/ standard operating procedures
- Ensure compliance to Quality Management Systems
- Project management support
- Continuous improvement initiatives
Candidates must exhibit or be able to demonstrate:
- Prior quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
- An ability to work in a crossfunctional team with challenging deadlines
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects at one time
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office packages
- An understanding of metals and metrology principles
- An ability to read and understand Mechanical drawings
- Read and interpret welding symbols
Education/Training:
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification related to quality assurance & management
- ISO 9001 Quality Management compliance training
- Internal auditing
- Good understanding of welding will be advantageous
Work Experience:
- 5 Years in a quality environment
- Experience in conducting & hosting audits
- 3 years in a supervisory/ leadership role
