Teaching & Curriculum Support
Assist students in developing research and information literacy skills aligned with the IGCSE syllabus.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson plans and research projects.
Conduct library and information literacy sessions for students.
Organize reading programs book clubs and author visits to promote a reading culture.
Recommend books based on students reading levels and interests.
Create engaging library displays and reading challenges.
Planning and :
Oversee the operation and management of the School Library and resources.
Serve as teacher materials expert and curriculum advisor to ensure that library is involved in instructional programs of the school.
Develop and implement strategies to maximize and leverage digital content that meets the research and educational requirements of the school.
Identify and implement services and resources that enable students to develop skills in researching evaluating synthesising information to complete assignments and enhance and support their learning.
Support and guide teachers with identifying relevant content and resources that are required to meet lesson objectives and can be integrated into lesson plans.
Serve as an information resource for users of the library and provide staff development opportunities for teachers.
Understand the specific requirements of the curriculums the school offers to ensure that the school meets the full range of literacy skills necessary for the optimum implementation of the curriculums.
Identify implement and maintain suitable library management tools and resources that ensure their seamless access and utilization by all the users of the library.
Catalogue and classify learning resources in the library resource centre and develop and maintain accurate and reliable catalogue and lending systems.
Select acquire purchase organise advise on and promote learning resources in all formats which support the curriculum and learning and teaching in consultation with school management and other teaching staff.
Plan and manage the annual budget for the management of all library resources.
Design the library and media centre environment so that it is conducive to learning and relevant to the interests of students.
Participate as an active member of decision making teams in the school to ensure the continuous enhancement and development of library resources.
Maintaining a cooperative relationship with administration staff students parents community and where appropriate local public libraries.
Collaborate with teaching staff in the planning development delivery and evaluation of relevant learning and study skills programmes in the library.
Promote the use of the library resource centre to the school community and foster an atmosphere which is conducive to positive learning experiences for users of the service.
Promote the use of instructional technology to engage students and improve learning while providing 24/7 access to digital information resources for the entire learning community.
Support students success by guiding them in reading for understanding pleasure and the exploration of diverse viewpoints and genres.
Partner with the school community to create meaningful experiences and opportunities to promote a love of reading and lifelong learning.
Provide leadership and expertise in the selection acquisition evaluation and organization of resources and technologies in all formats as well as expertise in the ethical and responsible use of information.
Manage acquisitions processing organizing distribution maintenance and inventory of resources.
Comply with federal and state laws State Board of Education rule and board policy in the library/media services area. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
4. Assessment and Feedback:
Engage in diagnostic formative and summative assessments of student learning.
Collaborate with teachers to design and teach engaging lessons and assessments that incorporate multiple literacies and foster critical thinking.
Participate in the implementation of collaboratively planned lessons by providing group and individual instruction assessing student progress and evaluating activities to incorporate classroom objectives and information/digital literacy skills
5. Professional Development:
Monitor and review Individual Development Plan of self and identify relevant training to upgrade the knowledge and skills.
Identify and request to attend professional workshop activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
6. Documentation:
Maintain department records as per the quality and other accreditation requirements.
Ensure that all appropriate procedures are properly completed and records are maintained in alignment with the statutory requirements and School policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate records to demonstrate progress made by your team.
7. Behaviour and Safety:
Establish a safe purposeful and stimulating environment for students and other colleagues.
Maintain good relationships with staff and students.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children within the school raising any concerns following school protocol/procedures.

Work as a team member and identifying opportunities for working with colleagues and sharing the development of effective practice with them
Ensure that colleagues working with you are appropriately involved in supporting learning and understand the roles they are expected to fulfil.
* Graduate degree in Library Sciences from a recognized university
