JOB SUMMARY:
Sycamores provides a spectrum of equitable mental health services through various programs to multicultural populations of all acuities. Although it serves a variety of consumers the agency focuses primarily on providing care to lowincome high at risk youth.
The purpose of this position is to provide active handson peer support to parents of youth/young adults receiving services at Sycamores. Effective peer support should be friendly helpful accessible and flexible. Peer support may be delivered to individuals or group settings at the agency in family homes or in community environments. The role of the Parent Partner is to work collaboratively to increase family voice choice access and empowerment while decreasing unintentional programmatic and institutional bias about parents
STARTING PAY RANGE:
$20 $24 per hour (starting pay will be based on previous work experience and educational background.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be the biological or adoptive parent of a child/youth/young adult and who has navigated mental or behavioral health or related public child services.
- Must be willing to share lived experience and publiclydisclose their story as a peer to other parents who are on a similar journey with their child/youth/young adult.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Maintains all required licenses and certifications.
- Valid California Driver License and a driving record acceptable to the Agencys insurance carrier.
All candidates who are presented with a conditional offer of employment must satisfy a preemployment background check drug and health screen.
