Job Description
Local Unit & Position Description:
We are looking for a Surveyor to join our NB&CMC team in Italy reporting to the local Line Management. The NB&CMC team is a part of DNV Maritime Region West Europe in the following areas: Iberia Italy and Malta.
The Area includes all maritime business activities and consists of 60 employees in 11 locations. The Area operates with two Service Lines:
Newbuilding and CertificationVerification of materials and components (NB&CMC)
Fleet in Service (FiS) organised as part of business Unit FiS West Europe.
Our customers require a wide range of certification activities: from materials and welding procedures to pressure vessels pumps compressors gears thrusters electrical installations automation systems lifting appliances complex offshore packages.
Classification of big and complex ships from design phase to final delivery is part of our service portfolio.
From this traditional background we started a journey covering also advanced future technology: fuel cells new types of turbines advanced electrical drives and lithium batteries for ship propulsion to name a few.
We aim to be the front runner in innovation digitalization and customer centricity. Based on this ambition new ways of working are continuously assessed and implemented for various disciplines. Recent examples are electronic certificates remote inspections additive manufacturing sensorbased maintenance alternative fuels autonomous ships.
Customer needs and carbon footprint reduction are key priorities in our activities.

Qualifications
Main responsibilities:
Managing our clients together with other relevant parts of our organization.
Perform certification and verification of materials and components at the various manufacturers in Italy under class and nonclass related regimes and associated processes.
Be part of DNV team(s) surveying our Newbuilding project(s) in the country including activities through all project phases from planning to closeout.
Position Qualifications:
Master/Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic/Systems Engineering.
Knowledge/specialization in integrated safety control and monitoring systems will be a plus.
Valid driving license.
Personal qualities:

Very good communication skills verbal and in writing both in English and Italian.
Ability to work flexibly independently resultoriented and selforganized
Resultoriented: responsible for professional and consistent deliveries throughout the assigned projects.
Willingness to learn and always develop/differentiate own competence and skills.
Eagerness to support new processes and tools to drive digitalisation.
Flexibility to travel up to 50 of the time in Italy and occasionally within the Area/Region.
Availability to relocate depending on business needs.
