Job Summary:The Traffic Engineering plays a crucial role in leading and managing traffic engineering projects. This position involves applying advanced engineering principles providing technical expertise and overseeing the planning and of trafficrelated initiatives to enhance safety efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.This is a remote position with expectations of travel to the client and project locations. Full and part time positions available.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from initiation to completion.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
- Consult with municipal clients and stakeholders on all traffic engineering projects as assigned.
- Review detailed traffic studies and analyses to identify patterns congestion points and safety concerns.
- Use modeling and simulation tools to evaluate and improve traffic flow.
- Develop and review traffic signal plans roadway geometrics and signage.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure traffic engineering considerations are integrated into infrastructure projects.
- Stay updated on traffic engineering standards codes and regulations.
- Ensure that all projects comply with local state and federal requirements.
- Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex traffic engineering challenges.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in traffic management.
- Coordinate with internal teams including planners environmental engineers and transportation professionals to ensure holistic project planning.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders such as government agencies and contractors.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of traffic engineering designs and analyses.
- Engage with the community and stakeholders to gather input and address concerns related to traffic engineering projects.
- Present technical information to nontechnical audiences in a clear and accessible manner.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering
- Minimum 35 years of experience in traffic engineering
- EIT certification preferred or passed FE exam EIT certification
Skills:
- Proven track record of successful project management.
- Proficiency in traffic engineering software and modeling tools.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
COMPENSATION:SAFEbuilt pays competitive wages and has a strong benefit package.
Salary Range: $120000 $140000
