Class Summary



Job Description
This class is responsible for performing journeyman trades and duties. The position will be required to perform complex installations and repairs preventative maintenance and inspecting equipment. This position is a lead to staff and will assign and monitor work as well as train new employees.

Essential Duties
  • Serving as a lead
  • Performing complex installations and repairs
  • Inspecting equipment and determining needed repairs
  • Performing preventative maintenance
  • Maintaining level of supplies and equipment

Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a preemployment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This job requires a public safety background check to include motor vehicle histories criminal histories and fingerprinting.
  • This job may require oncall rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.

Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

The grades and titles of these positions are dependent upon experience and education.

Grade
The grade for Trades Tech I is A123. The grade for a Trades Tech II is B213. The grade for Trades Tech III is B233.

As of 4/11/2023 these positions are eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
Trades Tech I Salary: $36633.00 $46706.00
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid drivers license
Trades Tech II Salary: $43238.00 $56209.00
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of trades experience
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
  • Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Level I Certification in specialty area
Minimum Qualifications
Trades Tech III Salary: $51237.00 $66607.00
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of trades experience
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
  • Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Level I or II Certification in specialty area

Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the Countys values.

In addition to the executive side of County government certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett they include the Sheriff Tax Commissioner District Attorney Solicitor Probate Court Judge and Chief Magistrate.
