Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PRT Art and Craft educator to join our team at Podar International School in Navi Mumbai. This fulltime midlevel position requires between 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in nurturing the artistic talents of our students through creative and engaging art and craft lessons.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching art and craft with demonstrable results in student creativity enhancement.
- Proficiency in drawing and painting (Mandatory skill) to effectively guide students through foundational art concepts.
- Expertise in sculpture techniques to introduce students to threedimensional art forms using various media.
- Knowledge of ceramics essential for instructing students in the creation and decoration of pottery and ceramic pieces.
- Understanding of printmaking techniques to help students explore diverse methods of creating art through prints.
- Familiarity with art history to provide students with a background in influential art movements and artists.
- Ability to utilize digital art tools to incorporate modern technology into traditional art education broadening student skills.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain a conducive learning environment where creativity can flourish.
- Experience in lesson planning to develop comprehensive and inspiring art and craft curriculum tailored to student needs.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons in art and craft that inspire and engage students encouraging both creative expression and skill development.
- Guide students in handson projects focusing on drawing painting sculpture and ceramics ensuring a broad exposure to different art forms.
- Track and document student progress to evaluate and enhance learning outcomes providing feedback and support as needed.
- Incorporate art history and digital tools into the curriculum to offer a wellrounded approach to contemporary and traditional art education.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events and exhibitions to showcase students creative works.
- Maintain an organized and safe art studio environment ensuring that materials and equipment are used and stored properly.
- Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and encourage artistic pursuits at home.
- Continuously update personal teaching practices by engaging in professional development and staying informed about current trends in art education.
