Custodian Part-Time XL Center

The Custodianstaff is responsible for ensuring the facility meets or exceeds standards of cleanliness to the utmost in guest satisfaction before during and after all events. Custodial staff must be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Custodial staff must possess the knowledge skills and abilities listed below.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.44.

The XL Center is Connecticuts premier destination for sports & entertainment. The 15000 seat downtown arena is home to the eleventhtime National Champion UConn Womens Basketball team and the sixtime National Champion UConn Mens Basketball team. Led by Hall of Fame basketball Head Coach Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley the Mens & Womens basketball programs have established themselves as national powerhouses.

The XL Center is also home to the AHLs Hartford Wolf Pack the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers.

The XL Center entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts family shows iceskating spectaculars consumer events and trade shows throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of worldrenowned artists including Taylor Swift Justin Timberlake Bruce Springsteen Billy Joel Pearl Jam Black Eyed Peas Britney Spears Drake and many others.

The XL Center will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.

• Arrives for each scheduled shift on time in uniform and ready to work
• Ability to work morning afternoon and/or overnight shifts including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time to kneel stoop climb stairs and reach above head as well as perform repetitive motions in connection with cleaning tasks
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and read written instructions especially cleaning products and SDS
• Performs light and heavy cleaning tasks including but not limited to cleaning bathrooms locker rooms; Sweeping mopping and disposing of garbage
• Restocks restrooms with supplies
• Works safely quickly and efficiently to meet all deadlines
• Maintains a positive outgoing demeanor and acknowledges guests in a friendly manner
• All other tasks assigned by Supervisor

• Cleaning or event related experience preferred
• Basic understanding of how to use cleaning equipment
• Ability to operate scrubbers buffers carpet extractors etc
• Basic understanding of SDS
• Basic understanding of PPE
