The Politics and Law Department at Rhodes College invites applications for a twoyear nontenure track visiting assistant professor position in American Politics that will begin August 13 2025. Candidates should have or be close to completing (ABD) a PhD in Political Science. Candidates will be expected to teach multiple sections of Introduction to United States Politics 25 student cap per class) and upperlevel topics classes in American politics informed by their research to complement the needs of the department. Candidates who have experience with liberal arts education and collegelevel teaching experience are preferred. The teaching load is six courses a year. All faculty are eligible for $2000 in annual professional development funds.

Letters of recommendation will only be solicited for shortlisted applicants at which time you will be prompted for the names and contact information for three 3 references. Background checks are required before candidates can be brought to campus for interviews.
